Scrap metal collection and recovery

From first contact to final destination

The efficient, comprehensive and regulatory Metal waste collection service

Fiducia S.r.l. offers companies an integrated service for the management of scrap metal, from collection to final delivery to the steel mill.
Each phase is carried out using our own vehicles, authorized facilities, and qualified personnel, ensuring efficiency, safety, and full regulatory compliance.

We operate primarily in Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, and Northern Italy, with flexible solutions designed for workshops, turning shops, industries, and operators in the sector.

Waste collection

The collection phase is organized on a customized basis, based on the type of waste to be managed and the supplier’s logistical needs.

When necessary, Fiducia S.r.l. provides interchangeable containers of different sizes and capacities depending on the supplier’s needs. When filled, these containers are:

  • In the case of materials that can be handled by crane (such as loose or bulky scrap), the waste is loaded directly onto the vehicles with special spiders, optimizing response times;
  • Emptied at our facility and then returned empty;
  • In some cases, replaced directly with a new empty container during collection.

The collection of materials can be requested online via our dedicated portal: each customer has their own personal area where they can view their emptying history, consult documents, and independently manage requests.

Transport to the treatment plant

Waste transportation is regulated by specific environmental regulations and can only be carried out by expressly authorized parties. We do not accept material from private individuals.
Fiducia S.r.l. is registered in the National Register of Environmental Managers for the transport of waste using its own vehicles, in compliance with current regulations.

Once they arrive at the Parma – S.P.I.P. plant, the materials are weighed and subjected to preliminary inspection to verify their type, conformity, and correct traceability.

Only after these operations does the load enter the subsequent phases of the recovery and valorization process.

SORTING AND TREATMENT OF MATERIALS

Upon arrival at the plant, the materials are carefully sorted: ferrous and non-ferrous scrap are separated, with the possible removal of foreign particles or contaminants.
This phase also involves waste characterization and its allocation to subsequent processing stages or direct shipment.

Turnings

Metal turnings resulting from mechanical processes—such as filings, shavings, and flakes—are already ready for casting. Thanks to their small size and the purity of the material, they are sent directly to foundries without the need for further processing.

Scrap

bulky or irregular scrap is subjected to volumetric reduction processes, through shearing, shredding, oxy-propanol flame cutting, and plasma cutting, to reduce its size and facilitate its management, transport, and subsequent use in the steel industry’s smelting cycles. Decommissioned machinery, on the other hand, is dismantled manually or mechanically, separating the various metal components: ferrous structures, electrical cables, motors, copper or aluminum elements. Each fraction is sent to the appropriate recovery stream.

TRANSPORT TO THE STEEL MILL

After sorting and any processing (cutting, crushing, or compression), the materials are sent to foundries and steel mills, in Italy or abroad.
The treated material is ready to be reintegrated into production cycles, making a concrete contribution to reducing the consumption of natural resources and promoting the circular economy. In fact, all ferrous and metal scrap is 100% and infinitely recyclable, becoming a highly ecological and essential raw material for a wide variety of production cycles.
